Description: With two young boys and frequent use of our downstairs toilet, we kept finding that soap would end up sat in excess water in our standard soap dish. This resulted in the soapdish softening and with boys ‘experimenting’ the soap being broken into lots of unusable pieces. It would often only last a couple of weeks and would be an embarrassment with any guests who come round. The desire was for an aesthetically pleasing (colour excepted as it was all my workplace had available) free draining soapholder. I designed the pictured soapholder and we haven’t had any problems since this point. It’s been in use for 9 months and has proved effective and robust. Several friends have asked for one, but without a home printer we haven’t managed to deliver on this. I would love the opportunity to print some of these and give them as gifts. I would also welcome the opportunity to look for other opportunities to design practical solutions to day-to-day problems, as well as to explore 3D printing with my 2 boys (currently aged 6 & 8).
