Getting Creality Print to recognise ASA filament

Hi All, I’ve just tried a new filament for the first time on the K" Plus (ASA) and have set it up on the printer but I can’t get Creality Print to select it during slicing.

I’ve unloaded al the PLA reels and can purge it manually but its grayed out in the Send to Printer dialogue box.

I’m hoping its something obvious I’ve missed!

Thanks

@Simon_Burrell I had the same problem. The issue is the material settings for the object(s). Please see screenshots.

  1. Select the object on the plate.
  2. Select “Objects” (next to Global) in the Process window on the right side.
  3. Click the “View all object’s settings” icon to the right. It’s the middle icon.
  4. In the pop up window, double click the filament, and set it to the slot number of the ASA filament.

Slice the plate and send the print. ASA should be available now, and the PLA will be grayed out.

its generally quicker and easier to just use the object browser on the left.. to select object and change the corresponding number to that of the filament you want..

if however you don’t have ASA listed in the right hand side - filament drop down menu, then you need to add it to
your list of filaments"

click the 3 dots here (next to the .4):

then the drop down arrow on the left:

then scroll to the bottom and click add filaments

this brings up the menu system to add different brand/types to your drop down lists

if you don’t see it listed here (not all filaments are listed for all nozzle types, i.e some are not shows for 0.2 nozzles), then you can add it in via the custom tab… but generally use either Creality, Generic, or eSUN, in order to print a calibration PA & Flow test, then save that as your own custom filament…

this is what then shows up via CR drop downs (once you’ve saved a custom profile) or via the system menu,
