Getting replacement Extruder/Toolhed

Hello,

I have an Ender 5 max. I have messed up the cables for sensors and motor pretty much (stupid me). Now before I start fixing things, I was wondering if a replacement would make sense. If replacing, I was thinking maybe a direkt drive extruder is feasible… Searching around the internet though I find it pretty impossible to find suitable items. And concerning the printhead I have the impression that it is not compatible to Ender 5 Pro or Plus, true? Because I like the Micro Swiss extruder, but this is only compatible to Ender 5, Ender 5 Pro, and Ender 5 Plus…

Is there anyone with experience on upgrading the print head to direct drive?

You can convert it very simple to Direct Drive… You can download a bracket to 3D-print that makes is possible to attacht the stepper motor from the extruder directly on the carriage of the hotend. The only part you need to order is a extension cable for the stepper motor.

STL-file for this bracket can be found on Thingiverse. If I have some free time tonight I will post link and photos of the conversion.

I also have made some parts to mount the role of filament on top of the machine, will see if I can find the files and share them with you
