I got the new k2 plus and the door hinge came unglued. What have people used to re attach it to the glass.
The top hinge on mine was off when it arrived. I used Gorilla Heavy Duty double sided mounting tape. Quick and up in no time. May decide to use a UV glue at some point, but I have over 200 print hours and the door is still holding.
So they claim this was done on purpose.
We hope this email finds you in the best of your health.
We apologize for the delayed response. The glass door has not been attached to the door hinges to make sure that the door is not damaged or broken, we ship the door in such state. Our engineers have developed this technique to avoid breaking of glass door. You can simply use a strong adhesive to reattach the door to the hinges. If you have any further issue, please let us know so we can assist you in the best way possible.
Looking forward to provide you the best support!
So the inferior glue was done on purpose. Oooo, we trick you!
I got a similar response for my bottom hinge…
We are very sorry for the bad experience.
Regarding the problem of the glass door joint falling off, it should be noted that in order to avoid the risk of glass cracking due to long-distance transportation bumps, we have improved the installation process, canceled the drilling and screw fixing, and used glue to repair the door frame bracket.
You can buy strong glue to stick the door frame bracket to the glass door.
I had a nice guy recommend this:
I used Gorilla Glue Epoxy it took 24 hrs but the glass will brake before it comes off. I know as mine shattered when I opened it the first time after shipping. I had a Plexiglass one made but it’s a temp It will not handle the temperature. I ordered the Door kit from Creality as it is only $38 Amazon wants $100 or more, I plan on taking the kit to my local glass shop and have them drill screw holes in it so I can put 3mm bolts through the hinges.
I tried the Gorilla double sided tape, but it wouldn’t hold up to the heat. Used Gorilla super glue and it seems to be holding it’s own, but I would like to see a screw and rubber bushing in each hinge, although it looks pretty awesome without them - just wish they would stay together.
