I got my K2 plus 4 weeks ago. It was a replacement for my Ender 3 S1 plus I had for 3 years.
From the start it was easy to set up and printing was excellent with absolutely no problems. A week ago it all went wrong. Unbeknown to me the waste was staying in the chute and it ended up creating an extruder blockage. I cleared that and did another little print. The waste was just hanging up and not packed but just a long curly string. I kept clearing it away but it didn’t help. I saw the flap was free and didn’t jam so someone had suggested using a silicon spray. The first time it worked well but that was all. After the first layer had been laid down it started the second one but every few seconds it stopped and did a nozzle clean and made more waste in the same fashion but the parts that would have been laid down during the clean were skipped, That second layer kept being done. In the end I did a full factory reset but it hasn’t helped at all.
Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this please?
Well after the first attempt after the reset didn’t fix the problems I had another go and this time at last after dozens of errors before the reset without indicating what the errror code was it finally said F00528.
A search said not found but need digits only. so searched for 00528 and still no good. Once again this time 0528. Why can’t the search just pick the last 4 characters or find it from the full error code!!!
So having seen 2 videos saying the spring in the CFS was too strong and causing problems I didn’t know whether it was that or something to do with the extruder/nozzle. So I disabled the CFS and put a fresh reel of filament on the exterior feeder. Did a quick benchy with it and had no problems.
This seems to suggest that the spring is too strong and and ending up limiting the filament flow. This would probably also explain why the waste was thin, light and hanging up instead of dropping away. Both videos showed that taking 1 turn off the spring solved this. I do have a lot of springs so I might decide to use one of them if it seems right otherwise I will shorten the current spring.
I though that for now I would continue with what I had started when it went wrong. In less than a minute it failed as usual!!!
