Hello. I’m Vikki and my husband is Don. We are new to this forum. We bought the Creality K2 Plus printer last year, but have not used it much. We are relatively new to 3D printing and had not owned a 3D printer previously, but decided to go big or go home. I am in Las Vegas, NV. I don’t have much to share since I am still learning, but I love to learn new things. We are also learning to use Fusion 360 to design, but that is another story for another time. I like the simplicity of Tinkercad to be honest. Right now, I am just playing around with the printer and learning some of the settings. I hope to learn more on this forum ![]()
Welcome Vikki and Don! The K2 Plus is a solid machine to grow into, so you picked well. Nothing wrong with Tinkercad, plenty of people design websitegreat stuff with it and never touch Fusion. Playing around with settings is honestly the best way to learn. Ask questions anytime, this forum is great for that. Happy printing!
Have you tried Aquanet (and Aquanet only) unscented hair spray on your build plate? I find it works better than glue sticks for me. I use it on two Creality K1C’s and one Snapmaker U1 printers. On the Creality, wash the bed in warm soapy water and dry, then spray a really heavy coat of Aquanet on the build plate. After each print just spray a light coat where the print sat on the build plate and print away. One of my Creality build plates has not been washed for almost three years. I just keep printing on it. Have fun!

I do not put anything on my print bed. I clean it with isopropyl alcohol after each print. I have heard mixed reviews about putting glue or hairspray on the bed, so I chose not to use anything.
There are alot of options on 3D modelling software. Think about what you want to do before committing to one. The learning cure can be high!
- TinkerCAD, as you mentioned is simple to start with
- I use mostly FreeCAD, which is good for mechanical items - think replacement parts, computer cases, kitchen boxes, etc
- Blender - which I don’t use - is good for artwork and specialized texturing
- The free tier on Fusion360 is another option. I personally dislike the “Free, but limited features” model.
And of course there are gazillions of downloadable models out there, mostly free that require NO cad.
J’utilise fusion 360 gratuit et j’en suis pleinement satisfait, sur internet on trouve une grande grande quantité de formations qui aident beaucoup.
