Hello everyone! ![]()
I’m PengarouX — a forensic chemist by day and a 3D designer by night.
I first got into 3D printing when a small part broke on a lab instrument at work. The replacement would’ve cost around $400, so I decided to try modelling and printing it myself. The final print worked perfectly and cost about 40 cents — and that was all it took to get me hooked.
Since then, I’ve been designing functional parts for our lab, saving thousands along the way. I started with an Ender-3 V3 SE, upgraded at home to a V3 KE, and we’ve now moved the lab up to a K2 Pro Combo for printing nylon and other engineering filaments.
I also enjoy entering design challenges — I placed 1st in the first Creality contest I entered with my “Branch Caster,” and I recently placed Top 20 in the Winter Design Contest, and won my PK round, earning a K2 Combo that I absolutely love.
Most recently, I picked up a Ferret Pro 3D scanner using Cuvacoins, so I’m now diving into 3D scanning as well.
These days I focus on functional designs, creative builds, and experimenting with new techniques — often inspired by my chemistry background.
I design under the name “PengarouX” (a penguin–kangaroo hybrid ![]()
), which pretty much sums up my style: practical, creative, and a little unexpected.
Looking forward to learning from everyone here and sharing my work!
Cheers,
PengarouX
