Help me I'm loosing hope here K2 (non pro or plus

Hello nice people. I hope you’ll be able to help as I’m starting to lose hope here.

I have gone through the whole forum trying to figure out what is going on with my K2.

Bought it for Chrismtas this year and ever since then all I get from it is uncertainty. I have never had a confidence it’ll print from the start to the end. It sometimes does, don’t take me wrong, but am I doing something wrong or what.

Using Creality Print.

Before the printer was even deliered, I have ordered 10 KG of various Sunlu filaments. Yes, begginer, so PLA only. 5 x single color PLA and 5 x double color Silk PLA.

All first prints failed. Even Benchies didn’t print. I’ve seen various error on the printer on the first day. Didn’t gave up. I’d say learning process. Started working on print speeds and temperatures and situation improved. I can now print a benchie

My issue is random and on bigger prints. Printer stops extruding filament in the middle of the prints. Sometimes it stops and I find it with errors: Looks like printer is printing without a filament and similar ones.

Sometimes it stops extruding filament for like a minute and then resumes as if nothing. This is sooo annoying especially when doing bigger prints. It can do that at after it printed 50-60% of a print that’s bigger in size and takes 10+ hours to print. I then have filament ruined, print to be thrown out.

I started blaming the filament and the quality control while producing those filaments. What really messed my head was that I printed a print scrapper with white Creality filament that came with a printer. I printed it on 100% speed without predefining any settings directly from printers menu. It printed just fine. At this point I was 100% convinced it’s the Sunlu Filaments that are the cause. Started reading online about Sunlu as a brand and found multiple users saying their printers are choking from these filaments.

I went and bought Creality Hyper PLA black with RFID and started printing with confidence. Allowing the printer to print on the speed it wants and the temperatures predefined under under Creality Hyper PLA profiles. First print came out just fine, bigger print too. But then it all started again. I’m now finishing off that same original Creality Hyper PLA spool and prints keep on failing with the same behavior. I even reduced to 50%, still fails. Now printing on Silent setting and it does that too. I’m not sure where the problem is and what to do. It fails on larger prints pretty much with any Filaments, doesn’t matter if printing on cheaper ones or Official/original Hyper PLA of creality.

Errors experienced so far:

CZ2768 - Z-axis homins issue, you may have an external disturbance

TR2852 - Filament detector triggered abnormally…

TC2841 - Cutter might be jammed. Please try again after resolving

Print failed due to unknow error

XS3000 - System error, try restarting

FO2845 - Extruder may be clogged.

Honestly when I have weird errors I always factory reset my printer and it seems to clear out the issues.

Hello David, I’m very sorry to hear about your experience. Have you contacted our after-sales team? Were they able to resolve your issue?

No I have not. Been thinking this is all my fault as I had nothing to do with 3d printing before. So been trying to work out what is happening.

Yesterday evening, started a print of this drawer: https://makerworld.com/en/models/145324-desk-drawer-modular#profileId-158088
I was working perfectly fine. First layers and all. And to be fair the amount if filament it outputs looks great. Looks high quality. Went to bed and of course in the morning found the print to be stopped with error “Printer is printing without filament“ and of course it stops the print. I resumed the print, it finished it, but I do have a line missing now.

Printed on Generic PLA preset, at 230 degrees and Stable 50% speed.

Printer is printing without filament is the most common error that I’m getting. This happens on long prints and quite later when like half or 2 thirds of the print is done.

Before starting this print, I disassembled the extruder and made sure there are no jams or stuck pieces of fillament. It was all nice and clean.

I’ve been having this on all types of filaments I’ve used so far. Sunlu, Creality Hyper PLA, Filacraft. Been trying various speeds. It happens even when printing on slowest speed.

Bigger question, why is this not happening at the start, but quite far and late in the print. First layer and multiple other layers are absolutely fine and near perfection.

I had the same issue @150 hours K2+. Swapped out the nozzle with the silicon carbide and all is good so far. Need to wait for long-term results. There seems to be heat creep happening IMHO.

Thanks for your response. I believe I figured it out. It was a partial clog in the nozzle. Tiny partial clog. Printer was printing fine. Noticed that filament was coming out from the nozzle slightly with an angle before the print when the printer was “pooping”.

I have managed to do a cold pull and it seems to have resolved the issue. Have had several successful large prints afterwards.

At this point I’m releaved and can’t believe how much trouble and wasted filament this have caused me.

I’m now a happy user and customer of Creality. Really, honestly feels amazing to find a successful print after nights sleep.

Thanks all for your responses and feedback!
