Did you ever figure it out? Mine started doing it to me tonight. Think it may be software update related

For posterity, im replying to this. I also have struggled with this and gotten support that was less than helpful. The fan, i believe, gives feedback to the board, but if not, the same thing is at fault - the board. I can fool it to keep running by doing a few different selections and getting past the fault. I have already confirmed the fan is functioning correctly, so only downstream of the connection makes sense. I got support to send me a replacemeny fan, which i will install now and report back. But my background tells me it is actually on the board or software. The latest SW update slowed this issue down, but didnt solve it. It is still possible the firmware could solve this issue…

Did getting another fan resolve the issue?

Hi,
In fact, yes, replacing the fan does seem to have resolved my problems. I think there was an issue with the feedback to the main board, making it think somethimg was worng with the fan.

Originally, there was one type of fan - 2-wire, and life was good. Then came along 3-wire and then 4-wire fans, adding Run/PWM/analog input, PWM/tach/locked rotor output, etc. These then started appearing in several variants (open-collector, totem-pole, TTL, etc.) The different permutations thereof have since exploded out of control; many fans today are custom-made. It very well could have been some small anomaly with this particular fan, even if it seemed to spin fine, and it’s likely that the only suitable replacement is OEM.
