HI - Filament jams at cutter every time

Checked magnets and cleaned. Installed new extruder, jams every print with filament bunched up at the knife. Compared new and old extruders and in both cases knife is held by magnets to clear the feed path. Same feel to each. Pressing gray bar does push the knife in and if done hard will cut filament. Totally frustrated as no idea what else to try. BTW hot end was replaced recently.

Recently happened to me and had to replace the blade, blade was dull and get stuck on the filament, new blade cut without problem and get released fine.

Make sure you didn’t put the cutter blade in upside down - when it is, it will catch and not rebound properly every time. It may be time to replace the blade too - they do get dull which is why replacements are available.

I got a pack of ten blades, WHICH COME WITH THE MAGNETS ON THE WRONG SIDE, so if I put them on the «correct» way they do not bounce, I had to remove the magnet on my extruder and flip it. arggghhhh

You might have gotten the ones for the wrong printer. I think the K2 and Hi cutters are different.

nop, they are specifically for the Hi.

Yup - flip it over the other way. You have it upside down so the polarity of the magnets is wrong.

It is on the right direction, at least by the official video and instructions:

Did you try flipping it?

Yes madam, and did the same:

had the same problem — here’s the explanation.”

firstly it wont work correctly if put back incorrectly, the cutter slides in both ways but jams 1 way and works the other.. i also was going through all of this until i realised its wet filament causing the extruder to clog which caused the cutter to malfunction..have you dried your filaments? even newly bought ones?

also your cfs moisture must not be higher than 37 but id say nothing over 34
