I have the Falcon A1 10w unit and have purchased the Creality Honeycomb Laser Bed for Falcon A1 Laser Engraver. With the honeycomb laying inside, I can not raise the laser head enough to use the machine. I am assuming that I need to remove the bottom plate to use the honeycomb. If this is so, how do you remove the bottom plate or how do I raise the laser head more to clear the part and set the focus?
OK, Just to help others, I did have to remove the bottom plate to correctly install the Honeycomb Laser Bed. To remove the bottom plate from the Falcon A1, just remove four screws found on the inside and on the two side of the bottom plate. Allen head screws. Creality included the Allen wench needed for this. I do not understand why there was no instructions included with the Honeycomb bed and why I had to do so much searching on the Internet to find the answer, but I did. Hope this helps others. PS: Yes like many, this is my first laser printer and I have lots to learn.
I had same issue. If you loosen the Laser head ajustment screws off to where they are almost coming out then you can raise laser head enough to get honeycomb in without removing the bottom plate.
Thanks for your post. I went to my machine and tried what you stated about the screws and you are right. It is the top screw that you have to unscrew almost to the fall off point and the head will move up even more. I thought that the adjustment was really small and I had loosen the screws a good bit but like you stated, loosen them, specially the top screw almost to the point of falling off and the head will move up more. What I have done is remove the bottom plate then move that plate to under the machine and under the honeycomb. I did this because I did a cut out and the laser put burn marks on my table. It burned thru the honeycomb and marked my table, no big deal.
Thank Again
So I put the bottom plate back in the machine and then the Honey Comb, loose the two screws (to the point of falling out) to raise the laser head (by loosing the screws all the way the head does move up more) but had issues. Placing an 1/8 basswood board in the machine, you could not raise the head enough to set the head with the gauging block to focus the laser. This is in a Falcon A1 10w machine. So back to where I started, You have to remove the bottom plate to install the HoneyComb in a Falcon A1 10W machine.
