Every few dozen+ prints was getting a “nozzle unexpectedly not heating” error. I wriggled a few connections around the home end and the error would always disappear for a while. I now think I have tracked it to this plug/socket as it is also relatively loose. I have used contact cleaner but error still appears every now and then. Has anyone else seen this and fixed it. I was thinking of thickening the pins on the hot end with a thin veneer of solder but am interested in other possible solutions.
Thanks I have a spare extruder nozzle assembly and examined the socket in that one and see it uses std JST internals (The outer plug is slightly not std) for which I have spare connections and a JST crimper so next time it happens I will replace the socket internals.
I mangled to disassemble the connector and squish the pins down as they were indeed loose, Quite tricky with my relatively poor eyesight but was able to do it using a head magnifier. Thanks for the tip.
