We have been running with high temps on a K2 Plus with no issues for two weeks. This week the printer gets to temp, levels out, then freaks for 40-60s before settling out again. The swing is +/-30°C and causes the thermal runaway alarm and shuts down half the time. If it survives this minute, it levels out and finishes as if nothing ever happened.
I don’t see any alarms trigger in the console, so I’m not even sure where to begin.
PS. I hate that while starting, the temp is set to 180°C then 170 then 140 before going to anything close to the running temp.
Both graphs are from the same run.
To anyone having issues with this. It appears to be a lose connection with the thermistor. For me, that issue pops up above 280.
I basically pulled the connector, gave each wire a tug, then popped it back into place.
Mine seems to freak out and fail a print every 200 hours or so. Last freak I hit the contacts with contact cleaner Next freak out I am going to do that and goop them up with di-electric grease. At the same time, I cut back the hot end bowden feed PTFE tube to get the connector teeth into undamaged PTFE.
I had this issue… I replaced the hot end and now my K2 prints head and shoulders better than it did even brand new.
