Best regards forum, I hope you can help me. They gave me an Ender-3 Calssic printer. My question is how can I make the printer accept .STL files. By default it only reads .GCODE files. Open a software update, which allows the printer to read .STL files. I look forward to your kind response to this message.
Hello Poncho_mty,
Sorry but the 3D printers require a Gcode.
You will need to import the .stl file into a slicer to generate the gcode file that the printer needs.
The slicer writes information regarding the printer, such as bed temperature, nozzel temperature, type of filament along with generating the instructions that tells the printer how to carry out the print geometrics.
The program required would be along the lines of Orca or Creality Print.
Cheers.
GCode files or 3MF files, are generated from STL files after they have been processed by a Slicer for a 3D printer. The only way to get your printer to read an STL file is to first run the STL through a Slicer and have it genereate Gcode. Im assuming you are new to 3D printing so here are some great resources to learn all about 3D printing.
