How Do I make a cover for something I scanned?

Hello I purchased an Creality CR-Otter with bridge and am wondering how in the heck do you make a cover for something lets say like an cell phone or gopro? Obviously you scan the item then what? Like what programs? I have scoured the net and came up with a lot of people asking but really no video’s for newbies, can someone link me a video please?

Thanks,

This is more a CAD than a scanning question. First it depends on which CAD software you are working with.
You can use any CAD software to for example use the scan, grow it in size (don’t scale up, grow outwards). Then you would take the original scan again and subtract it from that model again and cut out where the case should be open like the front where you put the phone in.
You simply get an STL, OBJ or PLY file, all that follows depends on the software you want to use so just search on YouTube for tutorials for the CAD software that you intend to use (Fusion, Blender, FreeCAD, OnShape, or even TinkerCAD for very simple things for example).

Thank you, I use (Well have used) Fusion 360 and am ok with it but with the personal home version. Im still learning fusion as well though
