How find my Motherboard main control chip version on ender 3 S1?

hello,
I want to flash the firmware to a ender 3 S1. But i don’t know my Motherboard main control chip version. How find it ?

Merci pour votre réponse. I’m french, use simply language.
Thank you!

Hi @BrunoM

As far as I know there is only one variant of motherboard for the Ender 3 S1 and is usually known as hw24s1_301.

You should find all available firmware updates for the S1 here:
Ender-3 S1 Software & Firmware Download

Hope that helps.

If anyone else reads this thread.
OP wants to know the CHIP version, not the mainboard version.
Chip is either newer F401 or older F103.

Best way to check is to remove bottom plate and have a look.
Carefully because there is probably a fan attached to the plate.

I have the S1 Pro and must also load correct firmware depending on which chip is soldered to the mainboard.

Copied from the linked download page:
“Notes:
The firmware is Ender-3 S1 update version, Support nine languages, support adding laser printing module, after updating, you can switch between FDM and laser printing. Please confirm the main control chip model before updating the firmware, only support the model whose main control chip is F401 version.

I removed the bottom plate to have a look to find this determining factor as to what firmware I can flash my s1 with… I’m assuming chip is referring to the processor to which mine is labeled as ARM STM32F103. it took me a moment to find it once I had access to the board, so I’ll add a picture to help anyone down the road

unfortunately, I won’t be able to get all the fancy new features I initially thought I could…

It is possible to replace the mb with a more recent Creality model. Then you might get the bells and whistles? Which ones might be missing?

You dont have to pull of the bottom it says in the about section

Yeah but i dont think its suggested
