I like the mesh-construction of rafts. How do I either tell the slicer to print a model like a raft or how doI just print the raft by itself?
I didn’t understand the question, I think I got hung up on raft as a support, like brim etc.
When he said mesh, I figured maybe it was something like that. Of course, maybe not, I wasn’t sure.
Now thinking of lashed together logs to escape an island after a shipwreck.
Sorry, yes, i meant raft as support like a brim. I like the raft that prints beneath the model – the mesh. How I decided to print them: design a model in the shape that I want the raft to be, extend the raft outward the specified length from this model, paste 8 or 9 of them on the bed and hit print. As soon as the final layer of the raft is complete, I cancel the print without printing the model and collect my meshes.
I turn off the brim whenever I can as it’s a PITA to trim off the model at times.
Just curious, what are you doing with the meshes?
Yeah, the brims are awful. I use the rafts as tactile doodads for students with autism. Some people seem to prefer the mesh over fidget toys.
