How to install firmware update and Main Menu screen not displaying

Hello! I am not tech savvy and this is my first 3d printer. I set up the Ender 3 V3 SE printer and when I went to the Step 4 Operation and Use, I was unable to select leveling because the main menu screen does not display.

Also, if I am supposed to update the firmware, I do not know how to do that. Any easy to understand (layman’s terms) instructions or guidance would be very helpful.
