Hi all, if I have loaded 4 different colors in the CFS and start a print with ie. roll 1, but there is not so much left on it anymore. Is there something I can set or configure that at filament runout that the CFS takes the next roll?
Or let’s say I’ve loaded all four slots with the same black PLA filament but I’ll be printing a huge object, does that work?
Unfortunately the CFS supports only same type and color filament.
You can enable this feature from the screen and I imagine you could set the spools manually with same type/color before you start printing, in order to “convince” it to do the switch automatically.
Please understand that this is only an assumption and I haven’t tested it (although I will as soon as I get the chance to do so)
As long as you set the spools to the same color/material, it will switch over automatically. One of my favorite features, I don’t print multicolor anyway. Not sure how or if it would work with RFID filament.
Awesome! I agree, this feature is awesome. For some test prints it would be nice to just empty rolls and that the printer has an option to continue in another color and maybe a setting of picking order. Ah well, maybe in the future.
That’s easy ““IF”” CFS always switches from empty to next to spool next to it. Label all spools the same color and type in your set-up (Only you know they are different ) start with LEFT (#1) spool. when it runs out CFS switches to next (thinking same type material ) spool to the right (#2). When that runs out it switches to the next (#3) , Then (#4) No idea this works but how I will try if I need it. $0.02
