I am not sure what it is but I just cannot get wood to print on the K1 Max. I tried both the PLA settings and the CR-Wood settings in Creality Print, but that only got me so far. Generally, I would print the calibration lines okay and the first line or two, but would turn into a stringy mess later on. Most I got was about halfway through a benchy on the 0.4mm. This time, I figured it was a situation like PLA-CF, so I got a 0.6mm changed that, also replaced the tubing with a slightly larger ID to help and added a SpacePi drier.
With this, the prints don’t even want to stick. I realized that the settings were for PLA in CrealityPrint, so I exported them and imported them again, fixed that, also changed to smooth PEI plate from Textured. No matter what, I cannot get the calibration lines to print without blobs now. Does anyone have working settings for the K1 series with Creality Print they can share for export?
Lots of advanced items past just temps, but I will try again lower at 200C and 65C on the plate, with no cooling on the first layer at all; see what happens! If there is a way in the software to better adjust the unit pulling on the tube for more filament, that would likely help, too. I may try running the tube straight across from the drier into the top of the print head, like with TPU and see what happens.
