It seems I applied too much pressure on my extruder arm while trying to change my filament and it snapped. I‘ve tried contacting the Creality support, thinking that they might have a file I could use to print out a fix myself. They don‘t.
I also attempted to re-create the part myself by taking pictures of the broken part, with a coin as sizing reference, and messing around in Fusion, but all of my versions so far didn‘t work out. Either the small metal rods didn‘t fit properly, despite tolerances, or the whole thing didn‘t fit because Creality didn‘t leave any wiggle room. Perhaps my part is just too broken.
Is anyone here more talented and ambitious than me and willing to re-create the part for the community (me)? Alternatively, you could send me pictures of your non-broken part (with a reference), so I can try re-creating it the way it‘s supposed to be. When you take pictures, please make sure to keep your camera as leveled as possible and to only take pictures from straight above or the front.
Like, imagine a cube. When you take a picture of said cube from the front or the top directly, it should only look like a square. That‘s how I want you to take the pictures, please.
I think that‘s the official term? Correct me if wrong, but I mean the lever on top of the extruder, used to open the gears inside so you can push your filament through/take it out:
If you have spare printer, you can print one? Depending how, where its broke. Otherwise if its still print, you just use screen to load and unload filament.
you can still swap filament by rotating this gear thats sticking out in right direction, while you preheat to 250 celsius and turn off printer, if you do it quickly enough i think you will have time to swap filament and print out that arm
The exact same thing happened to me, I didn’t find any file, I’m trying to model from scratch, I have several printers, but this has never happened before
