If anyone wonders why the K2 Plus has issues with the first layer

Thanks for your interesting post!
I have actually been thinking about such a heated bed, but have hesitated because my printer is struggling with a number of other problems besides just the heated bed.
In any case, it’s depressing that one must buy parts from third-party manufacturers to get the printer to work as it should.
I wonder what Creality would say if you sent them the bill? :joy:

How How How did you achieve a bed mesh of that caliber? Mine looks like a tent you could camp in, yes i heat the bed and then calibrate and yes yes yes to all your questions. Why does Bambu not have this issue as much as us? I love my k2 but sir i am buying a graphite bed so i don’t have to ever worry about first layers issues again. It just sucks to spend 250$ on a bed when my printer shouldn’t need it. I swear the calibrating does nothing, if i don’t set a positive z offset than everything will fail and look like garbage. Its truly disappointing when this machine is a tool for making money.

Right now, my K2 Plus seems to be working good (even those I get a belt tension issue during calibration and have NOT been able to solve that).

I have ordered my K2 Plus’s replacement, the Bambu Labs H2S. They have some very need multi-head printers coming out, but I don’t need multi-head. I do not do a huge amount of multi-color printing.

Maybe the K2 Plus will continue to work okay? I have found NANO Polymer Adhesive has helped a lot with this printer.

I landed on this thread and have found that modifying the mesh settings have effectively cured my first layer problems except for the fact that after I change the mesh probe and pps settings away from the defaults in the printer.cfg, all of my prints now fail to start after the initial leveling step.

Basically, if I start a print from Creality Print, or the touch screen and that print uses the CFS, the print will run an autoleveling and then it just hangs and the touchscreen shows “leveling…”

Manually running the autoleveling routine works fine in the klipper UI. I have tried several variations of settings for probe points and pps with no luck.

I’m so close to solving the first layer issue! Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions for solving it?

Does this work on the K2 Pro?
