I´m new to 3d printing, just got the K2 plus combo.
Just after started up the printer, it ran a test, everything went fine, when the test ended an upgrade firmware screen appeared. I upgraded and the test ran again this time an error pop up CA2717 tension belt error.
After searching for possible solutions, I contacted customer service they provided the same solution I found in the web. To print a tool in order to calibrate the tension belt correctly. I asked if i can considering the misscalibration of the printer, they told me it was OK, I wasn´t so sure, but i proceed.
Since they told me it was OK I decided to print a benchy (maybe I was too reckless). The result was good all I believe, just a not so great finishing in the hole of the boat´s bow and some stringing or cowebs I think it´s called.
After this I ran the test once more but this time there was no tension belt error.
is this normal or I should be worried?
I will appreciate any input you can give. Thanks.
P.S. Sorry for my shitty english, it´s not my first language.
I have had that error pop up as well when it tried running auto belt tensioning after an update i never did anything and i haven’t had an issue. I could as well just be reckless and there is some unresolved issues that have not showed up but my guess is a glitch my k2p has 1016 hours on it and it’s such a gem sorry I don’t have any real explanation but maybe you can have a little peace of mind knowing your not alone lol
Actually it give me some piece of mind, found a yt video on the subject and the guy says that also, that some of this belt tension errors was just glitches. I just hope this is the case.
Just bought my K2 Plus and did exactly as you did and got the error code not in the manual or on web. Now printing the boat and so far so good. I wish there was a formal Creality response as a few months have gone by since your post.
Well, I just keep printing and everything seems fine so far, so we can consider this a minor nuisance. I too would like to have a better customer experience from Creality since it´s worrying something like this happened when you´re a beginner to printing and are just trying to figure it out the process but apparently 3d printing is not a painlees, polished, user friendly experience as we have become accustomed from pretty much every other tech endeavor. It is common practice the release of unpolished hardware and software, and we have to search info, self-service and figured out a lot of ■■■■, maybe we are just spoiled and want everything to go just seamless and smooth after pressing enter, but since it´s not cheap piece of hardware (at least in the third world, it is a pricey one) I think better customer service would be in order.
This pretty well sums up what I tell people who are thinking of getting into 3D printing.
When I compare my printers with my EV I find it hard to understand why 3D printers manufacturers can’t get things more right like my EV which has done 55,000 km in just under 3 years without a hint of of a problem. Apart from changing two cabin filters, rotating the tyres every 10,000km and checking the brake fluid moisture content, there’s been no dealer servicing. Despite the trouble free EV motoring some small things still need attention like planning out of city drives to make sure there are chargers along routes, which some EV drivers seem to blindly ignore.
on a positive note my customer service service experience with my K2 plus has been much better than what I experienced with the now 6 year old CR10s Pro2 so it seems they are learning.
