Is it just me? Cardboard spool issues

I’ve been having issues with Creality’s cardboard spools.

When the filament is feeding from either edge it tend to slip down between the spooled filament and the cardboard. This jams the feed and the print fails.

Plastic spools work great. Problem only happens with cardboard spools.

Only had cardboard spools with Overture TPU and not had a problem. I shall load up some Jayo really matte black and give that a go, its on a cardboard spool. This will be on my V3 SE from a filament dryer. I shall get back to you.
