I finally gave up. Followed every tutorial, Followed all instructions, that machine just refused to work. One thing would get fixed, and three more would go wrong. I threw it out onto the concrete driveway and smiled.
It stopped printing, so i cleaned it and replaced the nozzle
then i get a hotbed not at correct temperature error
reflash firmware
then when I do a new bed level it creeps down so far that the nozzle scraped off the build plate coating.
did a reflash
then when the machine moves it moves too far to the edge sounds like gears grinding
Nothing I could do would make that machine work. do these machines actually work or did I just get a lemon?
Not exactly the best known way to repair it.
So why did you come here simply to tell us that, but not to assist you in getting it to work propperly
To help make people aware that there may be issues with this piece of equipment. something caused the sudden low bed temperature alarms (even though the bed was very hot to the touch and a laser thermometer verified temperature). something caused this print head to go askew, which explains the grinding sounds when it moved to the right on the x axis. why did it not recenter itself and get a new orientation? There were no switches at the right side of the x axis (although there is one for the left side of the x axis), and none on the z axis to help the software recenter when it goes off. Why when I did a bed level did it go all the way to the back corner of the x and y axis and do every level check at that same point rather than do the whole bed? What would cause a z offset that was perfectly fine and without any physical changes to the settings during a second attempt at an autolevel suddenly go so bad that it pushed down on the build plate hard enough to bend the print head back, and scrape the coating of the build plate off? I’m not really sure how were you going to assist with that? I get that I could have shipped the machine back for repair, but I live in Canada and the cost to ship it would likely have been over $100 and there was no guarantee that when I got it back it would be fully repaired, possibly necessitating another return and another hundred bucks on a machine that cost 200 bucks, not to mention the amount of time it would have taken them to try to diagnose and repair, and the possibility that they try any way possible to blame me for doing something to cause the printer to fail, or the even more likely thing of them just ignoring my requests for repair as I’ve seen so many other owners go through. So, with all that said, I came here to vent, and to perhaps let others know that they could encounter the same problems.
MANY come here with a problem with their printer and MANY get it up and running again from help provided ( some going to lengthy trials etc by a number of helpful people).
But I guess it doesn’t really matter any more, does it ?
