i have the K1, and the camera. .the camera stopped working so i purchased a new camera. the new camera still does not work, so it is my suspicion the cable must be bad. is this cable replaceable? i’ve seen a camera cable replacement on amazon/ebay, but im unsure if this is the cable to purchase to replace internally.
Hello, try rolling back the firmware to a previous version; you can find instructions online. Many people are experiencing camera issues with firmware version 22, so it is likely a software problem.
I don’t think anything is wrong with the cable; it is housed in a conduit and isn’t exposed to wear or vibration. The camera itself might be faulty, however, since the temperature inside it rises during printing. The issue is most likely software-related. Follow a process of elimination, starting with the simplest solutions: first, try rolling back the firmware and verify that the camera still doesn’t work on the old version before replacing any components. You can use a digital multimeter to check the cable for open circuits or short circuits.
I’ve downloaded an older firmware and put it on the USB. When I insert the USB nothing pops us like normal when you do a firmware upgrade.
is there a difference process to downgrading firmware?
Yes, you need to look for instructions on how to downgrade the firmware version, you just can’t put the old one
So this is crazy. After reaching out to Creality, they essentially told me that with the current firmware for the K1, camera stream is deprecated.
From the email:
hank you for contacting Creality customer support.
We are really sorry for the inconveniences it has brought to you.
We have consulted our engineering team regarding your camera issue after updating firmware version 1.3.5.22.
This is not a hardware fault. The new firmware has optimized the camera secure stream mechanism. As a result, the camera stream will no longer be available under this firmware version, and this is expected behavior.
If you need to restore the camera function, we suggest downgrading the firmware to an older version.
Please downgrade the firmware via USB: https://www.crealitycloud.com/downloads/firmware/flagship-series/k1
