K1 Max AI out of the box printing top left corner

Hello I am new to 3D printing and the K1 Max AI is my first printer. Out of the box quick and easy setup. I did download the most current firmware and proceed to attempt to print my first Benchy. It is printing in the top left hand corner., I also tried the scraper both are files that came with the printer. I also noticed that after the setup I did a self check and the printer damaged the removable plate. Is this a software issue? Any suggestions on how to fix ? I have emailed support and have not received a response. I did search the Forum to see if anyone else had this problem.

Hello @MiniBella …!

Can be slow but worth a try.

They will want a video of the issue. (You can send a you tube link), receipts and all those paperwork copies.

I read somewhere that a user with that same type of problem checked the wiring on the board and noticed that two wires were switched from the factory. Basically put in the wrong place. The x and y were switched.

I know with a warranty you shouldn’t have to work on it your self

If you got the printer on Amazon I’d return it and get another one. No guarantees you’ll get one that works correctly though.
In all fairness the vast majority of these K1 Max printers work great.

Thanks Jim, I really appreciate your reply. I went direct through the creality store website for the Machine. I will work on creating a video for them, and gather the paperwork.

JIm, I finally got a hold of support and thy did everything you said. I uploaded video’s to YouTube and they are sending me a new motherboard. Thanks for your reply, I thought I made a terrible mistake but you gave me hope and the support team at Creality came through. I need to now wait for my parts and install them. Let’s hope it not to big of a deal, and thankfully I am handy like that.

Just was wondering if you have tried to print anything else other than what was included with the printer. Maybe the gcode they sent you was for a smaller machine which would explain why it only prints in the corner… Try downloading or create a small test file from Creality Cloud or wherever to see how it prints…

As far as damaging the build plate my K1 Max did the same thing twice when I first got it. Very scary as I thought it was going to tear itself apart. Now when I do a calibrate I watch to see if the plate goes all the way down then I just shut the machine off because the plate shouldn’t go all the way down during a calibration.
It hasn’t done that in a long time though…

Great idea, I will try to find something small.

My first printer was the Creality CR 10 Smart Pro and I love that printer. I have the setup of the CR 10 down to a science and rarely need to level or set Z offset. Just print away with amazing first layers.

Recently I added a K1 Max and it is fantastic and much easier to set up.

The only thing I would do with the K1 Max is purchase the wheel nuts and springs to add adjustment to leveling the bed just like the CR 10. If you check videos online you will find a set that will fit. Ender 3 I think. I do not have them yet so I leveled my K1 Max bed with shims and it is now within .04mm from all four corners. This made the first layer much better. Other then that this printer is fantastic. Just check the bed mesh.
