Have upgraded K1 MaX and to be honest its been an unsettling journey , managed to get one multicolour benchy and ran a few longer single colour prints but then started to get various feed errors and latest situation is that the extruder isnt feeding as per video , extruder is clean and no blockages but just cnat seem to get it take the filament - have removed CFS from scenario as I believe thats ok but the errors are falsley stating its CFS but more likley an extruder or motor issue - video above is filament straight from spool and i can feel the extruder trying to grip but fails - or thats my assumption
I had a similar experience. But it turned out to be a broken wire, in my case the orange one, that allowed the motor to still vibrate like it was trying to grip the wire. Took ages to diagnose. A replacement Moons Motor and priblem resolved.
This orange wire what was it part of was it the upgrade for the extruder assembly? I am having similar issues. All these errors yet the cfs is feeding but seems for some reason the pla wont go through the extruder then gives feeding issues. What’s this moon thing you upgraded to ?
My K1MAX has ripped the extruder motor wires twice now… It sometimes moves too close to the back and snags the wires on the piece you have to screw on top oft the Z-Axis lead screw in the back.
Is it possible to just buy a replacement extruder for the K1 CFS without having to buy the whole conversion kit? I managed to destroy the filament sensor whilst clearing a block.
The stepper motor is same as stock, but its look like only AU vendor have those replacement extruder body.
I’ve had similar issues, bought mine in December and up to September it’s been in use for about 6 weeks in all that time, support keep sending parts that I’ve advised I have already tried and I’ve given up. I’m pretty sure my issues are all the wires from the extruder motor hitting the back when it extrudes wast colours in colour changes, and it just happens again. So frustrated with support that I’ve decided to give up and return it for a refund as I’m sure it’s a design fault and no end of replacement parts will ever resolve it fully. Disappointing but as I’ve had so little use out of it and the warranty expires in 3 months I’ve decided on switching to Bambuu as Creality have been really bad at sorting it. Even closed a call where i asked about returning it without replying.
I think the issue is the wiring if not properly managed its can get caught, as I have seen report where wiring broken pretty early as well, where there visible break in the wiring.
I had the same issue, 1 broken orange wire and I was not aware what the cause was. Frome the K1(C)/Max facebook group I was informed 2 weeks ago and now I read the same problem overhere. Replaced the steppermotor with a clone which has a suitable connector (see picture below) at the motor chassis and after swapping the motor with the new one I checked manually and visually what happens when the rear side of the motor bangs against the inner rear side of the printer via the attached extrusion/retraction mechanism. So far it seems to be ok now but it is definitely an upgrade kit design flaw, Currently I am searching for a spare CFS extruder replacement which is hard to find in Europe. I had email contact with Creality support in China but they are constantly referring in buying the CFS upgrade kit which I obviously already have and installed. I contacted today the Creality EU store with the question when they will sell the CFS extruder stand-alone, hopefully I will get an anser soon. At least the Australian webshop sells it likewise also Amazon in the US but ordering a spare extruder in other continents doubles the price regarding transport and customs import duties & tax….
No stand-alone CFS extruder available yet in Europe. Concluded my Creality support ticket with the result that Creality will try to get the extruder in the EU store if it will becomes available. So still unsuccessful. Overhere at this continent we have to wait it seems. ![]()
