I’ve had my K1 Max for a few months now and have had nothing but problems with it. I’m printing with PETG at the moment and it keeps getting jammed up in the nozzle. That causes the drive wheels to slip and chew the filament in half. I noticed a tooth missing on one of the wheels, creality sent me a new one. Then it works fine on PLA for a while. Haven’t had any issues with that. Then started to print PETG again and then right back to jamming up. The filament sensor isn’t stopping the printer from printing, even though the filament is not moving through it. I lowered the temp to 220. We’ll see what happens. Any thoughts? I should not have to be constantly taking apart and $700 printer and I’m about ready to return it.
For PETG I would be running it at 250°C or perhaps higher. Try it at that temperature at least to unclog the nozzle, 220 is PLA temperatures, heat it up. Use the provided unclogging needles and prodding thing to flush it through and as last resort replace the nozzle.
The nozzle is not getting clogged, the filament is swelling up in the nozzle and causing the drive gears to grind it in half. That’s why I thought it was to hot. 220 is working. I’ll try 240 or 250 next. This has happened at least a dozen times. When I take the driver off I can pull the filament out of the nozzle easy if it’s hot. I was slowing the machine down to reduce noise but I let it run full speed and it has completed a 12 hour print.
