K1 max Full linear X and Y rail MGN12 upgrade (no rooting needed)

I made the X and Y Axis modification/upgrade by installing linear rails MGN12 on my K1 max.
The needed parts I downloaded from cults3d, a design made by “lashigt”, see : 💭 Creality K1, K1C, K1MAX Full Linear Mod (LiDAR and CFS compatibile) - No Root Needed!・ 3D File for 3D printing・Cults

The printing results are great ( no VFA anymore on your prints) and a big improvement of the K1 max to a machine of industrial quality without having to root the machine.
There is a set for a not rooted machine and a set for a rooted machine too.

I approve of this type of mod :slight_smile: I shall be off to eBay to find a secondhand machine :slight_smile:

I think the kit looks really well-designed and clean. I just have some doubts about the left-side mount where the X-axis is supported — it seems like there’s not much material reinforcing the idler pulley. Do you think there’s enough room to widen that part by a few millimeters, say to 5 mm? Or would that risk colliding with the endstop or interfering elsewhere?

Also, does the toolhead move all the way to the side brackets, or is there still some clearance left? Have you run into any issues so far, or is everything still running smoothly?

@Fifi
I was on holiday but now read your post/

No room for your 5mm at the sideglider X axis because that would make the print field smaller.

The toolhead moves all the way to the side brackets.

No issues here it is running smoothly and I have great print results.

I would like to do this upgrade as well at some stage. Thanks for the post
