K1 max prints all but the first couple of layers offset

My K1 max has started doing this. It prints the first couple of layers (I think 2?) normally, and then suddenly shoots sideways and prints the next layers offset. It does this whether it’s a model I made in CAD, or a downloaded STL It’s always offset to the left when looking from the front.

I’ve installed a CFS-C and upgraded the firmware, but this didn’t start happening until a few weeks after I did that.

I thought I’d posted the solution to this, but apparently not! Most of the stuff I found online was about belt tension, which made sense. Maybe the belts were slipping? But, I adjusted those to no effect. Then, one day, I left the power off and just moved the head forward and back, left and right, and found that the left/right movement was binding in a couple of spots. So I wiped the horizontal silver bars the head slides along with alcohol, and then smeared a bit of the grease that came with the machine on it, and it started to print fine again! For a couple of weeks. Then it started doing the same thing. I repeated the same treatment, and it’s been fine ever since. So, I think that the print head was binding on the horizontal slides, causing the belt to slip.
