K1 Max retracting problem with CFS

Hello everyone!

I have been using the CFS with my K1 MAX since it became available in the Netherlands and have been using it ever since. Until recently, everything was working fine.

Now I keep getting error TC2841, but I’ve checked the knife several times.

The knife looks fine, and the knife moves smoothly.
The movement to the block so the knife triggers also works.

I can also pull the filament out of the heating block without any problems, as the cut actually works fine. Retracting into the CFS seems to be the problem.

I can still print, but at the end, when the filament is supposed to be retracted, I have the problem that the print doesn’t really “finish” until I intervene by releasing the leaver on the heating block.
However, I assume that I would not be able to print in multiple colours at the moment, as I always get the TC2841 error and everything stops.

But the retraction works as soon as I disconnect the heating block and then click on retract.

I am currently at a loss as to where the problem might lie, so I am hoping that someone here might have an idea.

Thanks, Erick

I too was having a similar issue when I first set up the CFS on my Max. I added a 1.5mm shim to the block that the cutting arm strikes. I also updated the Creality Print software (version 6.3.) Those two items did the trick for the retract problem I was having.

Dear Frank,

The extra 1,5 mm shim won’t help for me (although I added it) since the wire is cut, the problem is that the wire isn’t retracted. The Creality advice is to get a new sensor for the cutter detection board.
