K1 Max severe binding / grinding / non-movement...

I’ve been printing for months on my K1Max. Currently printing a ton of toys for elementary kids for a career day at kids school.

Last night, about halfway through a print, heard severe noises. Go to printer to see binding along the belt, with skipping belt position so i [owered off printer.

When I try to home the printer,it moves head to front right corner and touches front/sides a few to,es, then occasionally moves to center of bed. Other times, it moves to right center of bed, and grinds / binds. Home point is adjusted in those instances to the right of the bed.

I can’t figure it out. Belt tension seems OK in both x/y and z. (~130hz at 150mm length on both sides). X gantry is square against front stops. Sliding along y axis is free and smooth. Sliding on X is bindy and difficult. See videos.

I have no idea how to tackle this one. Thoughts?

This may be the same issue I had, with the k1 max skipping. I found it by powering the machine off, and moving the head by hand through the x/y range. The y range was smooth, but the x range was binding in a couple of spots. I adjusted the belt tension, but it didn´t help. I cleaned the bars the head slides on with alcohol, then applied a bit of metal grease. It printed fine for a couple of weeks, then did it again. I repeated the alcohol/grease treatment, and it’s been fine since.

Issue solved. New Mobo. fixed it. The x gantry is firm to move, I think it was bent a bit during the issue. Took it apart completly, but it is still very firm to slide. Either way, printer is working w/ new Mobo…
