hi - I am now to my K1 printer and have loved it so far, but I now have this issue which is affecting the first few layers of the print which is annoying - I also don’t know how to fix it so any suggestions by anyone would be well received by me too! It seems the nozzle is printing some of the base layer lines slightly too far apart and so the strands of filament don’t adhere to each other or the second layer and so end up as ‘strings’ on the base which easily come off… - such a shame as it has been great up until now…not sure what has gone wrong - if anyone has any ideas how to help I would be so grateful! Thanks
You can lower the printhead in printer advanced z-offset, -(minus)=lower, +(plus)=higher.
Use steps of -0.01 untill -0.05( -0.05 is my setting for petg on a textured PEI plate) and see how the prints are then.
good luck
Z offset can definitely cause this. The Z offset on my ENDER 3 v2 Neo is -1.76 so it might go much lower than -0.05. Rick is a pretty good resource: https://youtu.be/4WmS4Z9VopQ
Good luck, and happy printing!
Hello @simon1 …!
Welcome to the Creality Forum…!
As @tjan and @Michael_Hobbs stated your Z Offset can cause these issues.
In my experience with the K1 Max it also can be caused by Flow settings that might be too low…
You mentioned it just started so check what might have changed in your slicer settings, temp, bed temp or different filament.
To check what needs adjustment I would set up a print so you can change settings to see what works. A 100mm W x 100mm L x 3mm H model is what I use.
On the printer screen go to settings / Expert Mode / Z Offset and change by pressing the up or down arrows. This will move the build plate closer or further away from the nozzle. Press the icon and wait for a few seconds for it to take effect. Watch your print to see what happens…
