K1C 2025 - Cannot reinstall Extruder after clearing filament jam

After 20 or 30 successful prints the filament jammed in the extruder. I watched the Creality video and removed the stuck filament from the extruder.

When I first removed the extruder assembly from on top of the hot end there was a silver tube stuck on the extruder assembly. I took it off the extruder and replaced it in the hot end/nozzle.

When I tried to reassemble everything the extruder sits 1/16 - 1/32 inch too high. I can’t put the 3 screws back in. It looks like the silver tube is sitting too high. I tried to remove it to try and reposition it but can’t.

I heated the nozzle to 225 degrees and used the creality tool to make sure the filament path is clear.

While the nozzle was hot I tried again to remove the silver tube but it won’t move.

What did I do wrong?

Thanks for any and all help.

So your K1C has the old style nozzle, with a short piece of PTFE-tube between Extruder and Nozzle.

Poking with the small needle through the nozzle doesn’t clear the path through the hotend, therefore you can’t put back the short PTFE-tube…

The tool I got with the K1Max doesn’t fit through the nozzle, to clear the filament path I have to remove the nozzle…
