Brand new K1C. I’ve sent G-code to it via WiFi from Creality Print many times over the past few days, including tonight. An hour later CP says the printer is offline, but it’s running normally. I can ping its IP address from my Linux server, but not from my Windows 10 PC. At first blush, one might say the Win10 PC networking is bad, but I don’t think so. These are true:
The Win10 PC has known-good WiFi access to the same home network as the K1C.
The Win10 PC can connect to the Linux server using SSH via its WiFi connection.
The K1C responds to a ping to its IP address 192.168.2.206 from the Linux server.
A moment later, the K1C does not respond to a ping to its IP address 192.168.2.206 from the Win10 PC.
I have power-cycled the K1C, but the CP still says it’s offline, and it still doesn’t respond to a ping from the Win10 PC.
I am at a loss. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.
Forget trying to control your printer via CP, Just type in the IP of your printer to see what the printer is doing via the web interface… Or root the damn thing and install Fluidd/mainsail to get better control of your printer via web interface!
That’s not going to happen any time soon. Even though I spent 40 years programming in 10 languages, I’m not going to fool around with the firmware in a brand-new printer. Thanks for the suggestion – maybe another time.
The problem appears to have been Creality Print 6.0.3. I installed 5.1.7 and the problem disappeared – the printer is detected and shown as idle (it even detected no filament loaded).
Creality really stuffed up with version 6.
They tried to make too many changes at the same time and not soak test each change first before moving on to the next till finished.
