K1C won't boot after a successful print — "System Error", blank text in UI, wipe_all + USB firmware flash didn't help

Hi all,

My K1C stopped working right after finishing a successful print, and I can’t get it back. Hoping someone recognises this.

What happened

  1. The printer completed a normal print with no errors.
  2. Immediately after, all display widgets showed “no data” — temperatures, status, everything blank.
  3. I rebooted. It came up in the initial language-selection screen (like a factory first-start), showing “System Error” and with blank/missing text in several places in the UI.
  4. It has stayed in that state since.

What I’ve already tried

  • The wipe_all USB reset — no change.
  • Reflashing firmware from a USB stick — no change (the printer doesn’t appear to pick it up / complete it).
  • Multiple reboots, including a full power-down and unplugging the power cord for 2 minutes — no change.

Questions

  • Does this look like corrupted internal storage (eMMC) rather than a firmware problem?
  • Is there a correct procedure for the USB firmware flash that I might be getting wrong — exact filename, FAT32, file placed in the root of the stick, stick size limit, when to insert it during boot?
  • Is there any recovery method beyond wipe_all and USB flashing, or is this a mainboard replacement / RMA case?

Any pointers appreciated — I use this printer for my work and would like to avoid a long RMA if there’s a fix.

Thanks!

Now I’ve disasembled the printer to get the mainboard out for re flashing via USB, but the LED indicators wont enven light up affter holding the reset and boot button for 3 seconds.
