K2 first layer printing

Hi All, I highly recommend printing a first layer calibration test if you get a new filament type that you are having any issues with.
Or just to see what you can fine tune… As a FYI I can push printing of some filaments up to 200% speed and get good quality printing..

If you use something like

And manually play with z-offset & flow/speed, you can see what the results are as you move from 0 offset up to a point that it starts detaching from the bed .
You also observe what offset peels off the build plate in a consistent layer vs prints OK but structural issues

I use this method combined with fluidd speed increases to push the limits of flow/printing to obtain far faster prints.. (even printing first layer at speeds)

The more you experiment the more you see what effects / results the tweaks do or not do.

I just recently learned the hard way that they’re Z calibration on the LCD, simply serves as a modal delivery system to tell me to basically set it in the slicer. I haven’t printed on my k2 in months as it needed parts replaced (typical with a k2), and I don’t miss this stress. My $300 elegoo printers out-shine this piece of trash any day with ease.
