Does anyone know or have installed themselves any of the K2 improvements packages on Github on the K2 260x260 with any success? I’ve tried to install a couple of them and all seem to fail, well, they install but I can no longer access Fluidd & both my CFS’s flash red LED’s! I ‘think’ there’s also some errors when installing some of the extras ‘cos it mentions something about not finding a config folder or something like that. I’ve followed the guides to the letter, made sure I was factory reset, everything, the commands etc all appear to work and it does stuff but I don’t get any further.
My main aim is to at least get Cartographer working ‘cos I brought one so would like to use that at least! I wouldn’t mind screws tilt calibrate either, is there a way to install things like them, Entware, Fluidd etc manually?.
Anyway, rambling, Is there anything i’m missing at all? I’m aware that some of the K2 improvements are created for the K2 pro etc but doesn’t mention my K2 specifically so i’m a little lost. Lastly, if I do manage to get it working at all, is there anything I should be aware of and setup before going off to print?

Are you hinting on the JaminCollins repo on Github?
Whenni look at it the last update is a year ago and there are many outstanding issues. And one of them is the fluidd/moonraker gets killed.
So it basically bricks the printer. Only way to resolve the issue is a full reinstall of the firmware firmware.
Follow the instructions on their wiki page. And use an USB stick.
I’ve done the full wipe with USB stick, i’ve tried a few different versions of K2 improvements, campbellfabrications, Jacob10383 (jacobeans) and Erondiels. All seem to end up in the same situation.
I was looking at Jacobeans custom Klipper firmware but it’s based on the K2 plus or pro, I was wondering though whether that’d work if the correct info from the base K2 cfg files could be imported over the K2 plus/pro’s ones, for example the X, Y & Z measurements, bed size, mesh etc values that would be different. I do have a Carto too so would take that in to consideration if it was possible.
I think I found my answers and also a possible solution. It seems that K2 improvements was designed for the original K2 pro before all the other variations came to market and in the script it’s checking for certain markers and most of the other varieties of K2 are different. There’s some commands that can be ran to find out the info you need and also more commands to be able to force the install to complete fully and find the config files that are missing. It ‘might’ also need some dimensions altering in the cfg files but i’ve already got those setup on my stock cfg so it should port straight over if it’s needed. Well, i’m back and I have some good and some bad news. Bad 1st, no matter which K2 improvements I tried of the newer ones I found none would work, well, they would but i’d get axis_twist_compensation jinga errors in the _Z_Home gcode which I couldn’t find or fix even with installing the axis-twist-compensation files that came with some of the K2 improvements files.
The good news is, i’m not one for giving up, I managed to find a fork from 1 of the other forks that was specific for the K2 260x260 in that everything was stripped apart from Fluidd, entware, Moonraker and a few others but was missing carto & the macros folder, they did however mention on their Git that they were thinking about building a carto one so maybe it’s possible to still install manually and not use axis-twist-compensation? The rest ‘seemed’ to work like I said, carto would run it’s setup fine but as soon as I homed it would throw that error up.
The K2 improvements I found is working fine, I even managed to install screws-tilt-adjust and could install KAMP as well if I wanted to I think but manually installing carto & then the macro’s folder using the install.sh scripts for them I get those errors again so something somewhere isn’t quite right but i’m hopeful that once that hurdle is overcome that it will all work.

After 2 days of fighting I finally won! I managed to install Carto, with all the macros, plus other macros and other extras too from 1 of the K2-improvements githubs. I’m not sure which, it’s very possible it’s kind of hacky too but either way, it works, carto scans fine, bed mesh saves fine, issues with axis-twist-compensation (and other errors) all gone. The only thing I couldn’t get working for some reason was Creality print but that’s something to do with the G-code 'cos Octoprint works perfectly fine with the additional carto start g-code it needs.
What i’ll probably do to start with is upload a copy of my cfg files and any others I might’ve changed along with the initial K2-improvements I used although to be honest (although it does have the fix for the cannot find config folders issue), I don’t think it matters now as long as it’s up to date, it’s the cfg files and possibly 1 or 2 others that just need updating to suit the different size bedplates mainly and commenting out a line or 2.
I’ll post them up in the next day or 2 though 'cos i’m knackered after going through all of that this weekend but i’m proof at least that K1-improvements, carto etc can be run on the K2 260x260 and will work for any version of the K2 as long as you adjust the files accordingly.
