K2 journey and first issue

So I purchased the k2 and for the last two weeks it has been printing awesome… no issue, everything coming out great.

Then yesterday I started a print and noticed the first layer looked terrible. I had not moved or changed anything. Re calibrated and started again. Still looked squashed so I manually set the z offset on the print to drop the plate. The print finished fine. Decide to have a look and found the following issues.

  1. Hot end screws that hold the heater part to the heatsink were loose. Two smal screws if you look up from nozzle.
  2. As per the troubleshooting guide I checked the xaxis rail and the screws were also not tight.

Tightened everything and recalibrate. Print starts out great but during print I notice the nozzle scraping the model, finish print after dropping z offset again.

Heat up the nozzle and I see that it is also loose. Tighten up, check all the hotend screws again and start new print.

Touch wood printer is running a 25 hr print and the issues seem gone

So very long winded, but the machine worked 100% out the box.
So I would suggest every couple of days/ prints to check these things as a maintenance task so that you do not pull your hair out done the line.
