k2 noob print stalls

hi, just bought a k2 combo. excited to get started and print some files i had waiting. completed all calibration and passed with flying colours. updated software to latest version. next step, thought id try one of the pre loaded files as a test print, so i started with the “spatula” funny looking spatula, its clearly a bottle opener.

anyway, the print started fine, then after 40 seconds it stopped and bleeped at me displaying no error code or prompt as to why it stopped. exact same result 4 times. tried the boat print too, same result, 30-40 seconds and stopped. i gather from reading other problems here Creality aren’t going to help, so i’m hoping one of you lovely people can help me out here

You could always try powering down and restarting just to check it off the list

power off printer and leave it off afew minutes also make sure you have ticked all the correct options as it may be attempting to print from spool holder when you got it set to cfs .. also make sure you uncheck the calibration before print because you may think it was printing for 40 seconds but it was just recalibrating before the print. also creality does actually have an amazing customer service rating and i was just busy with them, took 12 hours for a reply and we have been in contact ever since tryna get my printer right

Thanks for your response, I had tried all the usual off/on stuff. Also it did actually start to print, it got to the same place every time which i thought was strange, here are 2 examples. Maybe if I attempt this 200 times and glue them together I can finally open that bottle of beer.

Sent off a tech request, hopefully I get a fix for this soon, not a great start for creality :joy: especially when there is so much competition

That’s positive thinking yes 200 in alternating positions should be able to complete a “spatula” lol :joy:

For anyone interested, I found the fault.

Turned printer on this morning and it actually gave me a fault prompt “chamber thermistor may be open circuit” after a few googles and some YouTube vids i stumbled across the issue by tracing wires back from the thermistor.

Someone in the factory must have had a chuckle to themselves when they glued this in place. It must have been making and breaking contact as the fault didn’t appear right away.

I am very happy to report that i now have a working K2 and an open bottle of beer to celebrate. Thanks to the community for suggestions, no doubt we will be in touch again
