Just received my K2 Plus and when I start a print with the AI-enabled there is a high-pitch alarm. I wasn’t sure if this was normal or if there is something wrong with the printer. If this is normal did anyone find a way to turn it off? It is super annoying.
I’m having the same problem it, does it with calibration on.
Anyone find a fix to this. Holy crap is it loud and obnoxious. I cannot print anything at night because it disturbs the entire house.
Do you have it plugged into a UPs?
Yes, I have mine plugged into a UPs. I was never able to find a way to fix the buzzing issue.
That right there, might be your issue.
The k2’s bed is big and as such (and in order to reach high temperatures fast), it needs huge amounts of electricity. That being said, your ups should be at least 1.5kVA (1500 VA ) to handle it.
The sound you are hearing is from the UPS, whining about the fact that it’s overloaded
thanks, but I assure you the buzzing is not coming from the UPS, since when the machine was first setup it went directly to a power outlet. This is an alarm that sounds when the machine first starts to move to make sure there are no obstructions. I was told by Tech support that I should be able to turn it off but they didn’t know at the time since they were still getting through everything. they even thought it might be a faulty camera and sent me a new one. There is a setting somewhere that need to be set or reset, I have even tried this with the AI turned off.
I’m jealous mine makes no sound. Anyway I suspect it’s the high current required to lift the bed and cycle the elements. I noticed this machine does not use the psu for everything as it’s only 350w.
Are you on 120 or 240v supply? It maybe the loop your on in your home is 15a and you have other devices on the same breaker causing the machine to freak out that it does not have enough power.
My suggestion would be to find the breaker your on and shut it off to see what it’s sharing and then move it or the other devices to different mains loop.
I think if that were the case, there would be a serious problem.
Cheers.
not sure about the other persons on this feed but it also isn’t the 15a since it only occurs when you are getting ready to start a print…if you are doing just homing the system there is no buzzing.
First let me say I have 3 gaming PCs and a motion rig for VR and we have tripped many breakers in the end I ran a separate line dedicated to just two pcs that can draw 1600 watts easily with monitors keyboard and mice and a laser jet that will pop a 15a breaker in the USA.
Gives you zero room for the start up of a K2 that can pull 1000 watts on its own when getting ready to print. So for it to be a 15a issue it could quite easily be the problem. If your on 15a breaker you can’t use anything else without starving it of power so if your running on a surge protector it’s going to limit the draw the machine can pull which will cause it to alarm like any ups does when line draw exceeds limit
Where is the K2 Plus speaker or buzzer is located? I’ve looked at all of the Creality parts replacement videos and have not seen one.
Is it in the touch screen enclosure?
I assume we are referring to US 115 volts AC and power factor of 1 ?
That is 8.7 Amps … a long way to go yet unless there are 2 printers doing the same thing at the same time, or, making a coffee maybe. ?
cheers.
I tried to help.
Hello Leekay07,
That is the thing we all need here and it is good that you do help !
I have probably not the best way of going about things, it is just that if I see something different to what I think is likely, then I show why I think so.
As it is, you could quite possibly be right. It would be interesting to find others with the same problem and see how their printer is located within their power distribution.
Cheers.
All good honestly this printer uses 1000-1200 surge watts for almost 60 seconds on startup I have 5 massive ups’s in my basement for heavy loads and the K2 triggers my UPS that is a 1250va I have it muted constantly but I log it on my PC.
This is why I asked if you had it on a surge/ups. It will die down relatively low wattage once running but I thing it’s the bed that consumes 1000watts on its own.
