K2 plus cabinet

While waiting for delayed shipping I made a short cabinet which will also store filament etc. I put it on levelling machine castors to make maintenance easier as it is a big lump to move around.

Short video is here… K2 Plus table/cabinet

The unit is about 400mm high. As a bit of fun I’ve put Creality logo handles on the doors!

Looks pretty good. I like how you put a picture of the K2 on it…

Lovely cabinet but seriously nowhere near enough storage for filament. I wonder how it will fair with the vibration compensation test/calibrate, if it is like my Qidi XP3 it might as well be an RB211 jet engine on a static test rig. Are those castors the ones that turn into feet, like these? I have those on an MBE (molecular beam epitaxy) chamber that I designed, great castors.

If push comes to shove, with “those feet” i will add a paving slab!
The big issue i have is the timber floor. Rather than the machine vibrations. So dead weight might help more than the added (tpe) feet!
If the K2 combo ever arrives this year! I’ll let you know.

Oh, and storage is just to add about 9kg of mass!

At 34kg that machine is a beast, its about 10kg more than my Xplus3 and that’s a big old lump. Had to change desks it was on as it shook too much. Fingers crossed for you. Might look at replacing the Ender 5 plus with a K2plus at some point

A stabilising 600x600x50mm paving slab weighs about 42kg dry! so hopefully one or two of those will do the job!

Just added that up the slab, printer and 9 rolls of filament, that’s heavier than me lol.

Was thinking a little more about weight after your previous comment…

Printer: 32kg net
CFS + 4 rolls, approx: 6kg
Cabinet: 17kg
Actually holds 14+ boxed rolls, approx:16kg

Sub total: 71kg or 156 lb

If I add a 600x600x50mm concrete slab, approx: 40kg

Total is: 111kg or 245 lb
