K2 Plus Exturder Front Cover PTFE Connector

Why is that connector crap and not replaceable on the front cover, I am sure it is so they can make a buck when it fails. I saw that you can print something that can protect that connector, but this is my second one that has now failed. Looked like I couldn’t find anything via prime next day or 2 days out.
Thankfully I had one that I have had one setup for TPU that I am using right now.

I figure might as well rip this old one apart.
not sure how long this will last but come on Creality up your design and make this actually better than it is now.

@ryan_levandoski I agree. Of all the amazing things the printer does, the PTFE connector seems like a pretty silly place to stumble and fall.

For “first” K2Plus, it is known issue. If I remember correctly, they somewhat fixed it on recent hardwares
And they even made a pneumatic one to print on CrealityCloud

My point was, of all the complex mechanical things in the K2, this is a pretty simple thing to have to deal with.
Yea, I got one of those early K2 Plus machines. I used the Printed reinforcement, but burned through those every few weeks. Then I found a more robust design, but it pushed the tube higher and it rubbed on the lid. Then I raised the lid. All was good until I realized the robust connector made it really hard to work on the extruder. Whilst working on an extruder problem, I left the robust connector off and discovered that raising the top gave the PTF tube enough flexibility that I didn’t need ether adaptor anymore. So now I’m full circle, back to the original connector. go figure. I wonder if the new extruder fixes this. People say the new extruder is the same, but it looks different than mine.
Whew, that was a bit long. Fresh coffee does it every time. :hot_beverage:
