we just got the K2 Plus and we were really enthusiastic with the first test prints but after a few prints we are having problems with the first layers now.
Even if we print the exact same file sometimes the print is perfect but mostly the first layers are „grizzly“ partially or all around like in the pictures. It’s always just the first stronger layers. Above them the print is fine.
Heat soak the build plate 15 20min say you print at 80c then start the time when the plate is 80c . Try a z-offset -0,025 . use the calibration prints for a better filament profile (use Google for k2 one). Delete the bedmesh in fluid and make a new one. hope some of this help.
I’ll echo Martin’s comment above - with higher bed temperatures (I print ABS at 105degrees bed temp) the bed moves considerably when heating up, so it’s really important to do a bed mesh calibration when the bed has reached temperature, before starting prints. This is why the first layer appears to be inconsistent between prints. It’s a real frustration for this printer, probably due to the huge build plate. My process for high temp (ABS) prints is: manually set bed temp to 105, wait a few minutes AFTER it’s reached temp, then run a manual mesh cal, then (and only then) start the print. In this way I get mostly consistent first layer thickness.
