Hi all,
I wanted to share this experience because I suspect many other K2 Plus owners may be running into the same issue after recent firmware updates.
Printer: Creality K2 Plus
CFS: 2 units attached
Printer firmware: 1.1.4.8
CFS firmware: 1.1.3
After updating firmware, I began getting FR2865 (“Feed issue, filament failed to exit extruder”) at the end of every print. The prints themselves completed successfully, but the error would appear during filament unload.
What made this confusing was that the filament did retract back into the CFS. However, I eventually noticed the filament was not being cut cleanly. The filament ends were often stringy, blobby, or partially melted, not a clean cut.
This malformed filament tip appears to be enough to cause the printer to believe the filament failed to exit the extruder, triggering a false jam error.
While researching, I found this Printables model where several users reported similar symptoms and success fixing it:
I printed and installed the cutter rod spacer.
• The first print after installation appeared fixed
• The second print, the error returned
What finally made the fix fully reliable was running a full recalibration, including cutter calibration, after installing the spacer.
Since then, I have completed 5 standard prints and 1 multi-color print with:
Clean filament cuts
No FR2865 errors
Normal CFS operation
Based on this, the issue appears to be a filament cutter rod travel tolerance issue exposed by newer firmware timing, rather than a true filament jam, CFS failure, or filament sensor problem.
Hopefully this helps someone else avoid a lot of frustration.
