I want to share my experience with Creality and the K2 Plus printer that I’ve had for nearly 12 months and warn anyone who is considering buying a K2 Plus Combo.
My K2 Plus has been Inoperable for 3 months now due to 2 separate issues. My first issue was a Z Homing Error Anomoly. I replaced the cable between the motherboard and the extruder motherboard per Creality’s instructions. I then started getting FR2836. I have corresponded with Creality dozens of times, have been sent several replacement parts, and continue to have issues.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND this printer. I have managed 2 successful prints since May 2025.
I’ve attached my entire correspondence with Creality below, complete with videos. This will demonstrate the type of support somoene gets from Creality and should serve as a warning for someone trying to purchase one of these printers.
Here’s the thread:

Hello
I’m very sorry for any inconvenience caused to you.
Could you please check if the photoelectric panel on the five way kit is in normal condition first?
When a filament enters the five way kit, light up the blue light.
When there is no filament entering, the light does not turn on.
Looking forward to your feedback.

I did do that. Below is a link to the video.

Hello!
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Based on the video you sent, we can confirm that the sensor is working properly.
Please follow the steps in the link below to confirm the cause of the malfunction and let us know the results.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Hello,
Please carefully watch these two videos. They show that I have tested all of the items in this Wiki. Also, the longer video shows that filament goes all the way through the CFS into the Extruder and back. No issues with compression, no issues with jams, etc.

Hello,
At this point, I need someone to come repair this printer or I need to send it back to you. Please either have a mechanic come to my house to fix this, or give me instructions on how to send this printer back for a replacement or a refund. This has been broken for months now and despite hours of effort and the printer still does not work and is not worth my hassle.
Since the last reply, I have followed your steps and I have replaced the material breakage detection module and still have no success.
Here is the video showing that the module is working:

I then tried to extrude filament and received the same error as before. Here is the video. It shows filament going correctly through the CFS, into all the tubing, to the extruder, and then giving me the FR2836 error.

Just to be sure it wasn’t a clog somewhere, I followed the process to unclog the nozzle in case it was clogged and was able to push filament through it - the nozzle is not clogged.
I also replaced the cover (red) that I use to keep the PTFE tube attached to the extruder gear assembly to see if it was blocking the filament or creating a false detection. It was working as intended, I was able to show that filament detection was still working. Here is the video.

Then, I removed the CFS and side-loaded filament to the extruder and used the K2 Plus’ “Extrude” function. Filament was able to come out of the nozzle as expected - here is the video:

For some reason, the filament is getting stuck in the extruder gear. When I use the “Retract” command, the K2 Plus heats up, but doesn’t appear do anything else. The filament gets stuck and I can’t manually pull it out.
Here is the video of that:

When eventually I force the filament out, it appears it was never cut by the cutter. I don’t know if this is part of the problem or not.
Just to be sure it wasn’t just the 2nd slot in the CFS, I moved the filament to the 3rd slot. Same error. Please watch this video in its entirety.

As I said, I have tried everything you have asked, the printer is non-operational and has been for months. I would like a mechanic sent out to fix it once and for all, or instructions on how to send it back and get a replacement or a refund.

We understand that it can be frustrating when experiencing issues with a product, but please be assured that we are doing our best to assist you. We kindly ask for your cooperation and patience while we work together to find a solution. Thank you for your understanding.
We are sorry that your order has exceeded the 30-day exchange period, so we recommend that you keep the machine and exchange the accessories.
We suspect the extruder gears are stuck with filament debris. Could you disassemble it and check? We can send you the extruder and two rolls of filament for free. It’s very simple. Please refer to this video: https://youtu.be/OPtuMyRy9vA
We beg you to give us another chance.

Hello,
Extruder gears are working. Here are two videos. One is of the printer successfully extruding filament (gears working), the other is of the gears after the extruder was disassembled.

You are welcome to send me another extruder, but this needs to be the final fix or I would like to return the printer. It has been broken now almost as long as it was working.

I received the new extruder and installed it per your instructions, unfortunately I still have the same error.
Please arrange to have a mechanic sent out to my house ASAP or provide me instructions on how to return the printer.
