K2 PLUS PEI Frosted Build Plate

I’m hovering over the Buy Now button for the K2 Plus - I would like to add the K2 PLUS PEI Frosted Build Plate to the order - but it shows ‘Sold Out’. However, on Amazon (UK), I can buy and have it delivered tomorrow. Any explanation for this, please?

Hey @Ian_in_Aldwick, welcome to the community! The K2 Plus is an epic unit - I liked it so much I grabbed two! One’s dedicated to high-temp filaments, the other to low-temp for maximum versatility.

The PEI Frosted (textured) plate is already included with the printer. The smooth plate is not included by default. Are you looking to have two textured plates, or were you after a smooth one?

I’ve got one of each for each unit, and in my experience, the smooth plate is way more fragile and high maintenance than the textured one. That said, I’ve also got some Wham Bam plates on pre-order - I’m excited to see how they compare!

As I print a lot of flatter stuff I alternate between two frosted plates so it’s not always easy to get prints to pop off as easily as those with lots of “z”. I let these builds totally cool down on their plate but meanwhile can restart printing with the other plate. This give me time to carefully clean the plates in between builds. Also have a Wham Bam smooth one on order.

Nice @BoBL, I can see why two textured makes more sense! Not sure on Amazon for UK. The Amazon in the US also has a lot of stuff available next day, for items noted as “sold out” on the Creality Store.

Apparently Amazon doesn’t buy and then onsell “stuff” it buys the rights to “sell and ship” so my guess is they just bought selling rights to a proportion of Crealities stock of the frosted plates. People like me who don’t trust certain vendors will tend to buy from closer to the source even if it costs more.
