K2 Plus will not downgrade firmware that Creality Support wants me to load

Hello everyone, support referred me to the wiki (K2 Plus Belt Auto Tensioning Module Calibration Process | Creality Wiki), for belt tension calibration errors and asked me to download a older firmware version that allows for that calibration. I can downgrade to a few older firmware with my USB drive but when I load the one they had me download and then sent me, it just ignores it. Does anyone have a way to force the printer to take the upgrade (downgrade) file from the USB and install it?

A support engineer is looking into it, but have not heard back from them as of yet.

Thank you in advance if you have any ideas.

Try changing the file number / name by incrementing it by 1. this will usualy fool it to upgrade /downgrade.

Probably that version has been installed before. So it will not install.

You need to rename the image, best way would be leave the name as is and only add RB before .I’m

For example

CROCN240110C10_R_202607311409_ota_img_V1.1.6.4.img

Will become

CROCN240110C10_R_202607311409_ota_img_V1.1.6.4RB.img

RB stands for RollBack so you know that it was a forced rollback even later when more problems co.e to discussion

I don’t know which version you need to go back to but also make sure that CFS and printer rollback.

Creality advise is to always rollback the CFS first and then the printer.

After the update do the calibrations, switch printer off wait 20seconds and then power back on, before doing anything else.
