K2 Plus without CFS Filament cutting

Hi all,

i have the K2 Plus without the CFS. When i’ve finished a print and i want to unload the filament i want the printer to cut the filament first. I click on the cut_material macro. The printer does a homing sequence and then i get a “Move out of range” error. The printer never actually does a filament cut.

Am i using the wrong macro to cut the filament. Is this the correct macro to use but there is an issue with the Klipper settings and it just won’t cut because of it?

I had this problem on the last firmware 1.1.2.6 and i also get the same problem on the latest firmware 1.1.2.10. At some point in the past, the filament did actually get cut once but i believe that was with the original firmware that the printer ships with and i don’t even know if i used the cut_material macro or not then.

Any advice on getting the printer to cut the filament would be greatly appreciated as i am just heating up the nozzle and retracting the filament at the moment and that could easily lead to a clog of some kind or getting some molten filament in the extruder gears.

Thanks

you just need to access the K2 screen / filament section and then select external reel and unload.

Simples

I always pull back on the filament once cut to ensure separation from extruder.

Thanks Mrburns,

i was using the fluidd interface but using the screen would be easier now that i think about it.

Thanks
